King supported the bill, arguing it ensured the Northern Australia Infrastructure Facility could continue supporting economic growth in a stable and accountable manner. King stated the amendments extended the statutory investment decision-making window from 30 June 2026 to 30 June 2036, providing certainty for investors. King noted the bill strengthened governance by requiring the board to notify ministers of noncompliance with the investment mandate and allowing ministers to direct corrective action. King explained that the legislation aligned the facility with current administrative arrangements for specialist investment vehicles by including the Minister for Finance in oversight responsibilities. King highlighted that the bill updated statutory review requirements to occur after 2029 and 2034, ensuring timely evaluations of the facility's operation.
