Thwaites argued that the previous government neglected Jagajaga, citing a disparity where neighbouring electorates received significantly more community grants than Jagajaga between 2018 and 2021. Thwaites stated that the current government is rectifying this by investing in local healthcare, including the Heidelberg Medicare urgent care clinic and a planned clinic in Diamond Creek, while expanding bulk-billing access. Thwaites highlighted infrastructure projects such as upgrades to sporting facilities in Heidelberg West, Banyule, and Heidelberg Heights, alongside the electrification of the WaterMarc pool. Thwaites emphasised the North East Link project, noting its potential to reduce truck traffic and travel times, and detailed housing initiatives including the rebuilding of the Bell-Bardia estate and new homes via the Housing Australia Future Fund. Thwaites contrasted these efforts with the previous government's lack of federal housing investment and opposition to net zero targets.
